Steve Was Born on the 11th Of July 1955 in the Nottinghamshire town of Hucknall. At the age of 13 He moved just a few miles down the road to the village of Calverton where he was to meet his wife Susan who he married in 1979 and moved to the town of Selston on the Notts Derby Border where he has remained to this day.
He has two daughters Lucy (23) and Emily (19)
Entertainment has been in Steve's blood right from his teenage years, when at the age of 15 along with some friends they formed their own group.
OHM BREW was the name of this first band and they used to practice in the local church hall and put on free gigs for the church, at this time they would perform rock and roll / Beatles type material.
Then came the heavy period the group took on the heavy metal approach and changed it's name to BLITZ KREIG.
Towards the end of the 70s with just the change of drummer and addition of a cornet / keyboard player the group took on another change and went into the cabaret / pop scene with the name of GYRO.
GYRO were quite a successful band on the local scene who were lucky enough to have come runners up in the Nottingham Evening Post / Opportunity Knocks competition and win automatic placing on the TV programme, unfortunately the programme was taken off the air before they had chance to appear.
GYRO split in 1979 and Steve joined a group called HARMONY PLAINS.
This was a polished harmony band performing Frankie Vallie / Beach Boys / ELO material.
When HARMONY PLAINS split in the early 80s, after a a year of looking around and joining a few other small bands Steve met up with his old drummer friend, who was now working as a solo guitar vocalist and they decided to form a duo called DOUBLE TOP.
DOUBLE TOP were quite successful and had a lot of fun in those days, however Steve was not enjoying his full time profession ( Builder ) and in the early 80s was thinking of going it alone and making a full time occupation of entertaining
Steve worked the local club / cabaret scene for a few years until he was offered the opportunity to go on holiday with his in laws. It was a country music holiday at Scarborough, until that time he hadn't really been a country music fan.
In 1983 whilst taking the holiday at one of Tony Bests events something happened that changed his whole outlook to music and life altogether.
It was then tha the first saw Raymond Froggatt in concert, an event he says he will never forget.
It was then that he realised that this was the way he wanted to go.
Steve went solo soon after this and decided to go full time country. A move he would never regret.
His current influences range from the traditional Merl Haggard / George Jones Traditional country, right through to the modern George Strait / Alan Jackson / Tim M'Graw / Brad Paisley material and he also enjoys writing and performing his own material.and also performing material from other great British Singer Songwriters
Steve Loves the British Country Music Scene and has many friends artists and fans alike and enjoys travelling around the UK and meeting them.
Steve is most at home performing to traditional country music audiences but many linedance clubs have booked Steve time and time again as the dancers always find plenty to dance to in his shows
